NOTES FROM SUMMER LEAGUE AGM MARCH 10th  2008

  1. PRESENTATION TO LEAGUE WINNERS

 

Div 1 = Robinsons                              2006 Robinsons            

Div 2 = Westbury ‘A’                         2006 Torpids 

Div 3 = Shepton Mallet                      2006 Warlocks

Div 4 = Shepton Mallet ‘A’               2006 Chippenham ‘A’           

 

  Since most of the Divisional Cups have gone missing and only North Somerset had volunteered to buy a replacement  - it was decided that from this AGM only Shields would be presented to the Divisional winners for retention by them.

 

 

  1. PROMOTION & RELEGATION

 

Div 2 to Div 1 = Westbury ‘A’,Warlocks

Div 3 to Div 2 = Shepton Mallet,Team Bath Buccs ‘B’

Div 4 to Div 3 = Shepton Mallet ‘A’, Warlocks ‘A’

 

Div 1 to Div 2 = Torpids

Div 2 to Div 3 = Nomads, Long Ashton Frys

Div 3 to Div 4 = North Somerset

 

          Long Ashton ‘A’  and Robisons ‘A’  will not be putting in a team this season.

Thornes and North Bristol ‘A’ volunteered to remain in Division 1 and 3 respectively to even out the numbers in each league.  A list of clubs in each league is at the end of theis document.

 

 

  1. RESULTS

Once again, a reminder that both teams need to notify the Divisional Secretary and the Secretary (for the Web) within 72 hours of the game being played by email preferably).
Late results will result in the offending team losing 1 point. Unless there is good reason 3 points will be deducted from the offending team for matches not played and a 5-0 walkover given to the opposition. This will be reflected in the leagues as soon as possible after the walkover is given.
Where the offending team is the away team , they will be responsible for reimbursing the home club with pitch costs.

 



  1. NEW CLUBS
    The following clubs will be putting a team in Division 4.

    Mendip,The Sparks (Firebrands), The Pips (Old Bristolians)

 

Mendip confirmed that they have managed to resolve their ground problem.

My thanks to all the above secretaries who volunteered to continue.

  1. NON-ASSOCIATED CLUBS
    Non associated clubs need to become associate members of the West of England Association. Cost £40.
    Currently Bristol Indians are associates and all other Clubs are associated.
  2. DISCIPLINE
    Any disciplinary matters should be reported initially to the Divisional Secretary and then the Chairman/Secretary if there is a dispute.
    It was noted that Winter League Officials should not be contacted.
    It was also mentioned that all participants are subject  the the National Disciplinary under the relevant county.
  3.  WEBSITE
    The summer hockey league website will contain the most recent results and leagues and can be found off the home page of Weston Hockey club at:

    Club contacts will not be put on the web site  because of possible email abuse. 
  4. ENTRY FEES AND FINANCE
    The only club still owing monies (£8) is Imperial
    plus their entry fee for this next season (£20).                                   Action: Ron Edwards
    It was decided that  entry fees remain at £10 per team for those clubs who are represented at the AGM and £20 per team for those that aren’t.
